The venture, which is already building a production facility in Tamil Nadu is also looking to new products and investment in distribution to build the business.

"This year we are looking to launch many new products, strengthen our distribution network and build brand Del Monte. Some of the most advanced machinery and processes yet known in India will be used to create innovative products. We will produce internationally-benchmarked, high quality food and beverage products, catering to the Indian taste. We will also have the capability to create customised culinary products for our horeca and institutional customers," Bellani said.

Among the planned new products are mustard sauce, mayonnaise, a rage of pasta sauces and a range of products aimed at the horeca bakery and ice cream segments.
