Havmor Icecream Limited, Ahmedabad, Gujarat-based leading ice cream manufacturer, has innovated non-alcoholic whisky-flavored ice cream which is the first of its kind attempt in India.

However, whisky-flavored ice-cream would not be available for the masses. "We will offer this to premium clientele for parties or weddings," said Mr. Pradeep Chona of Havmor Icecream Limited.

Not to run into trouble with law enforcing agencies who in the past apparently issued notice to a local brand for offering rum-raisin ice cream, Mr. Chona asserts that the ice-cream would be non-alcoholic.

"We will import the ingredients from Italy and manufacture the ice-cream in our Naroda facility here," Mr. Chona added.

“One must never stop experimenting with food. If you stop innovating, you will perish. Call it a survival tactic or sheer will to excel through our product offering, we have always attempted to bring in innovation to our products," Mr. Chona told reporters.

Mr. Chona claims that his brand enjoys 35% market share in India.
