McCain Foods to build market for frozen foods

McCain Foods India Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of McCain Foods, the world's largest producer of French fries and potato specialties, recently launched ‘Aloo Tikki’ and ‘Tandoori Nuggets’ with spices to suit the Indian taste profile. The company has started to make people aware of frozen foods and is building a market for the same. In order to market its products, the company will also start a sampling programme and plans to host cookery sessions in various parts of India.

Speaking with Hospitality Biz during his visit to Chandigarh, Neeraj Walia, National Sales Manager, McCain Foods India Private Limited, said that the company is committed to catering to the Indian market, in order to inform people about the frozen foods concept. "We plan to participate in all major events in the country as per our sampling programme. The Punjab has a high potential market, especially for this kind of product and we have decided to host cookery sessions in the state’s main cities. “One by one, McCain has expanded its frozen food distribution and logistics network to over 40 cities across India"
